Falmouth, UK called Babahogs. I use a mechanical pencil, fine liners and

Ray Negron

Ray N., born on the planet Earth sometime ago during the 1980s, attends
Clayton State University in Morrow, GA and draws comics in his free time.
He is the founder, CEO and custodian of The Jonesboro Experience of America.

Molly illustrationMolly Mullen

Molly studies journalism at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.
She has drawn comics for the last year and Candy or Medicine is the first
publication to which she has contributed. Other than reading comics and
re-watching "Rocky" movies, she follows the band Lambs of God on tour
most of the time, acting as the band's groupie. Read her blog here.





Josh BlairJosh Blair headshot

Josh is the founder, editor and publisher of Candy or Medicine. His comics have
appeared in Super Fantastica Comix, Always Comix, Symphony in Ink and
The Northerner. A native of the Northern Kentucky suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio, Josh
is the father of one (soon to be three when his twins are born in early 2009), a
freelance writer, and works in public relations. He has a bachelor's in journalism from
Northern Kentucky University and a master's in journalism from Ohio University.
Josh lives in snowy Syracuse, NY.



Abby Mullen

Abigail Phelan Mullen was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1986. She is a printmaker who
secretly wants to own a pumpkin farm. Abby currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Olivia Arrow
Olivia Arrow headshot

Olivia Arrow is a full time student and in her spare time, a comic/zine maker, doodler
and crafter. Although presently she is technologically impaired, she hopes to master
the machine one day (with a lot of help from her friends). Her current and past projects

Kevin is an illustrator/cartoonist currently residing in Phoenix, Arizona,
who arrived from beautiful Louisville, Kentucky about 5 years ago. His
three-year labor of love, Bitter Pill, is featured in the Phoenix-based art

Always a content and happy drunk Russ decided to try to use his bizarre life observations
and opinions to achieve his goal of breaking into the comic industry. Evil Ed and Nasty Ted
is so far the most sucessful of his attempts after several dozen even more odd and

Alberto Pessoa

Alberto headshot Alberto teaches graphic design and publicity at the Universidade
Presbiteriana Mackenzie in São Paulo, Brazil and is a freelance
comics author. He is an art educator and actually wrote a doctoral
thesis about the ironic speech in Latin comics. He lives in São Paulo,
but has friends in every place of the world because he surfs the Internet

Steve Rack

British artist, Steve Rack, is best known for his childlike illustrations that often feature
an array of characters, including Snuggletuff. Steve studied art for 5 years and graduated
from the Swindon School of Art with a HND in Illustration in 1999. Steve works mostly
with colored pencil, and he uses acrylic paint for larger works. Steve is currently adding
a new character to his MySpace blog on a daily basis until the end of 2008. You can see

Brad Foster

Brad Foster headshotBrad has been a freelance artist for as long as he can remember, and
his memory is fading these days! Aside from a few thousand odd little
drawings and 'toons contributed to odd little zines over the years, he's
also done the occasional professional job for titles as diverse as "Cat
Fancy", "Gent", "Amazing SF Stories", and "Cricket". In comics he had
his own series some years back, "The Mechthings", and he even got to play with the "big
boys" of comics for a few years as the official "Big Background Artist" of Image Comic's

Rob is a student at SUNY Oswego who spends his time
drawing and reading comics. Adventures with clouds might be a

Kel Winser

Kel illustration    Kel was born in rural Norfolk, England at the turn of the electric
   decade of the 1980s. Desperate to flree the very small town in
   which he dwelled for 20 years, he moved to the University metropolis
   of Cambridge, where the study of illustration was studied. He now
   lives in a suburban seaside home in Brighton, England where his

Kostis Tzortzakakis

Kostis headshot   Kostis is a Greek artist whose work has appeared in
  magazines and newspapers. He studies architecture
  at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece.

daughter, Lucy. Occasionally plays, but more often draws, banjos. Eric is the

Curtis Noel and Erik Dauplaise


   Curtis and Erik are the creators of the OfficeSurprise© characters of
   OfficeSurprise.com. Since 2004, Curtis, the owner of the Rhode Island-based
   Web site design company, base8group, has brought his graphic design skills
   and a slightly warped sense of humor into the mix. While Erik, Project Manager
   at ElectroStandards Laboratory, supplied the inspiration and unique perspective.
   A lot of laughs and a lot of scotch goes in to developing each and every strip.





Colin Tedford


Colin photo    Colin is a cartoonist (and more) living in his hometown of Winchester,
   New Hampshire. His strip Spinning World appears in the Vermont newspaper
   The Commons each month, and he publishes a few minicomics every year. He is a
   founder and co-organizer of the regional Trees & Hills Comic Group Distro. His comics,

Volume Two:
Matt FeazellMatt headshot

Matt is a freelance cartoonist and graphic artist living and working in Hamtramck,
Michigan. He contributed a series of back-up stories to Scott McCloud's ZOT!,
published by Eclipse Comics in the 1980s. Caliber Press published a paperback
collection of his work in 1995 called ERT! He is currently a regular contributor to
Disney Adventures Magazine and recently finished his mini-comic graphic novel,
 "The Death of Antisocialman." Read more about Matt and his work at cynicalman.com.


Domen Finžgar

Domen self-portrait    Domen is a young artist from Slovenia who started his career in
   2004 with the graphic novel Xen, which he drew together with
   seven other artists. After that, things only went up- his works were
   published in Stripburger, Lucky Creature Attacks #2 and some
   lesser-known Slovenian magazines. Domen recently tried his
   skills in animation, game design and illustration. Recently, he
   created Catlife, Snow for Eli and The Gian, his Shadow and the
   Magical Cloud, which are available on his Web site.





Ricky Glore

Ricky Glore headshotRicky is a member of “This Side Up,” the improv comedy team at Northern Kentucky
University
, where he majors in theatre and minors in creative writing. Ricky created,
illustrated and co-wrote (with Josh Blair) “GRiMMER,” an award-winning weekly comic
strip published in The Northerner, NKU’s independent student newspaper, that was
later canceled for being “too risqué.” In 2007, Ricky wrote, produced, directed and
appeared in his first live sketch comedy show, titled “UnRegularly Scheduled

Richard Cabeza

Richard head shot    Richard, a.k.a. TheAllKnowingHead, is not only the creator of Mad
   Mad World Comics, but he's also a figment of his own imagination.
   When he's not creating comics that are loosely based on the madness
   we call life, he enjoys reciting the alphabet backwards, listening to
   subliminal messages in 80's hair metal and playing chess. To this
   artist/musician/writer/humanitarian/visionary, the world is but a muse.
   But because of him, the world is now a little more amusing. See his work here.



Erin GriffinErins head shot

Erin is co-editor of Always Comix, a bi-annual anthology. Her series "Cavities" explores
the mysteries of teeth, mouths, and words. She is skilled in the arts of arguing, grumpiness
and taking a nap, though like many of her generation, she got a degree in something totally
different. She's lived all over the world, and has found that Pittsburgh suits her best.

Yves, a.k.a. Kapreles, was born in Antwerp, Belgium in 1978. His rather dark view on
life sprouts drawings influenced by late-'70s underground art. His work appears in
comic-zines worldwide, and his first full-sized comic collection, "Birthsewer" presents
an overview of his work.




Emily Puccia

Emily illustration   Emily is a social worker in upstate New York, where she acts as legal
   guardian and mentor to 20 parentless children. In addition to working with
   orphans, she illustrates and co-writes the comic strip "Classic Feelings,"
   which appears in Syracuse University's Daily Orange. Emily illustrated the
   cover to Volume Two.

Liza Miller

Lizzy Liza Anne Miller/Caldwell was born and raised in the sweet, dusty hills of Northern
New Mexico and cut her comic teeth in the mossy land of Massachusetts. Back home in
the llano she is studying biology and living a charmed life with her high school love
demon & loving husband, Kenneth, and their two extraordinarily well-read boxer dogs
Zoe "Soup de la Soup" Smalls and Jackie "Giacomo Casanova" Smalls. They all enjoy
cruizing their low riders with the punk rock bumpin' and have total crushes on big dorks.
